A CV for Otto Van Nieuwenhuijze
Otto is an independent research scientist. This proved to be the most expedite way to do a systematic interdisciplinary study into the integration of information and matter in our living body.
He studied material science in the department of Civil Engineering at the University of Delft. In his quest for deeper understanding he soon took all his electives in the departments of mathematics and physics, to be able to formulate and communicate the fundamental properties of physical science. He realised that Mathematics was created to suit the changeing needs for communication, and that the understanding of Physics is largely modeled by our impaired ability for communication. Based on his own research in 4D Dynamic Logic, he focused on Systems Theory as his main platform for communication. Most of his papers are published in this field of science.
Having completed his engineering studies, he spent 4 years studying in British Library, with a focus on the different ways in which the main world cultures describe their experience and understanding of the same planet and universe, in a same human body. It led to the realisation that science, religion, magic and healing all have the same aim: to come to a workable understanding of the unknown. It also made clear that the formulations of objective science cannot acquire their full and true meaning if not embedded in subjective realisation. What is known has no meaning if not lived.
This brought him to study Medicine at the University of Maastricht. There he soon learned that 'modern Medicine' is using obsolete models from Classical science (designed for describing dead matter) in dealing with living beings. Based on his prior learning he embarked on a project "Healing Health Care", which makes use of the logical integration of all forms of healing; to prevent rather than cure. He communicates these findings as editor of the Dutch journal for Integral health care (TIG), and as writer for various other journals. He also teaches on CAM (Complementary and Alternative medicine) and offers a range of private courses to enable people to realise that what they think matters. Het set up the web site Science of Life for the same purpose.
He now also offers his insight for corporations, "to experience their organisation as organism rather than as mechanism", by their managers lerarning the principles od healing in operating their organisation. In the field of science his main focus is on the formulation of consciousness, and the need for a different approach to science in order to be able to allow for the observer involvement, and subjective aspects in realisation. Observer involvement needs to form part of the formal equations in science.
Based on his research and findings he has initiated the Holoversity (and 'open source' approach to education), and Planting Paradise: a platform for communication of the realisation that humans are response-able for all their actions, at an individual, and thus collective, level. He teaches these insights on a free lance basis, in combination with helping various institutes working in this field to synergise for better results. In general, he would consider his work as helping humanity to heal itself by realising the importance of subjective experience and response-ability for personal being. For the same reason he offers the insights on healing for those working on Sustainability issues. He functions as networker in this domein. Planting Paradise makes this aim explicit: all people have a choice in the quality they live, and how they experience Earth.
