Short biography of Hannah Jones
Hannah Jones
Hannah's initial role within the M21 research project was to co-ordinate the Pushing Doing group. She is a lecturer on the MA Design Futures programme and a PhD student in the department of Design at Goldsmiths, University of London. Her PhD research into ‘awkward space’ invites an aesthetic inquiry into the uneven quality of ‘flow’ that visitors experience when traveling through the built environment. Where most orthodox descriptions may imply that for example, pedestrian turbulence is disagreeable or undesirable, her methods of managing ‘untidy’ unplanned spaces are able to elicit intangible qualities and ad hoc processes in a way that would be difficult using rational planning methods.
