Self healing

Self healing is a normal process adaptive self-repair that is common in living organisms and other complex systems. It can be seen as a profoundly adaptive process of self-regulation for survival. Engineers are developing 'self-repair' for certain materials used in space rockets. The technology of microchips will also be 'dynamic', or 'autonomic' but these are less sophisticated processes.

If we are considering ways to understand how to design for complex systems like communities perhaps we could consider ensemble music as a useful model for 'self-healing'.
